Description

“Bustopher Jones” – Cats – Backing Track
“Bustopher Jones” is a song from the first act of the musical CATS, composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and based on the poems from Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. The show tells about the lives of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles, who once a year choose one of their number to ascend to the ‘Heavyside Layer’ and be reborn into a new life. Bustopher Jones is a cheerful, upbeat song which introduces the audience to an elderly, rotund and well-loved ‘cat about town’ who frequents gentlemen’s clubs and has many a story to tell. The song is sung by the characters Bustopher, Jennyanydots, Jellylorum, Bombalurina and chorus.

Please note that this backing track is based on the 1998 film recording, rather than the earlier London cast recording. You can buy the film version that this is based on here:
