Description

Cabaret – Cabaret – Backing Track
This backing track of “Cabaret” is taken from the 1972 film version of Kander & Ebb’s hit show by the same name, starring Liza Minelli. The show, based in 1931 Nazi Berlin, follows the romance of Sally Bowles, performer at the Kit Kat Club cabaret, and American writer Cliff Bradshaw. This song is performed by Sally at the club near the end of the show, after an argument with Cliff about her pregnancy and his wish to take her away from the troubles in her beloved Berlin to look after her. Sally is unknowingly singing this whilst Cliff is being beaten up by Ernst and his Nazi bodyguards.
