Jason Robert Brown’s song cycle “Songs For A New World”.

This was Jason Robert Brown’s first produced show, originally produced Off-Broadway at the WPA Theater in 1995.

The songs were all written separately for various different projects, but director Daisy Prince saw a common theme in them about “the moment of decision”, a transition from the old to the new – so the show is somewhere between a musical and a song cycle.

Written for a cast of four – Man 1, Woman 1, Man 2 and Woman 2 – each representing different characters in each song.
