December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night) – Jersey Boys – Backing Track
“December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)” is one of the most iconic songs from the musical Jersey Boys with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. The show is based on the story of one of the most popular bands of the 60s, The Four Seasons. “December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)” opens the documentary-style musical but as it’s French cover version, “Ces soirées-là”, and band member Tommy DeVito enters to explain the story of the formation of the band originally known as ‘The Variety Trio’. The song then appears again later at the end of Act 1 as songwriter Bob Gaudio reminisces about how he lost his virginity.
