“You Can Do Better Than Him” is a song from the musical Bonnie & Clyde with music by Frank Wildhorn and lyrics by Don Black. The show is based on the life story of infamous American outlaws and lovers Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker who achieved cult hero status during the Great Depression. “You Can Do Better Than Him” is sung by Ted Hinton, the Deputy Sheriff, and Clyde. Ted has known both Bonnie and Clyde since childhood, so warns Bonnie that Clyde is no good for her, and expresses his own love for her. Clyde also sings to Bonnie, telling her that she deserves a good man who will give her more than he can, but that he will love her like no-one else.
