Nobody’s Side – Chess The Musical – Backing Track
“Nobody’s Side” is a powerful song from Act 1 of the musical Chess by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus from pop group ABBA, with lyrics by Tim Rice. The show’s plot revolves around a world chess championship taking place during the cold war, and the love feud between the Russian player and his manager Florence who falls for the American champion. “Nobody’s Side” is a passionate rock ballad sung by Florence with support from the ensemble, after an argument with the Russian, as she reveals her growing cynicism about chess, politics and love.
This backing track is based on the Royal Albert Hall concert recording from 2008, starring Idina Menzel as Florence.
