“The World Will Know” is a rousing chorus number led by tenor voice near the end on Act One of award-winning musical Newsies with music by Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Tangled, Enchanted) and lyrics by Jack Feldman ( Copacabana ). The show follows the true story of the 1899 Newsboys strike in New York City. “The World Will Know” is sung by the newsboy chorus, led by principal character Jack Kelly as he organises a protest after discovering that the publisher of the New York World newspaper, Joseph Pulitzer, has increased the wholesale price of newspapers for the newsboys by ten cents per hundred copies.
