“Santa Fe” is a powerful solo for tenor voice that closes the first act of award-winning musical Newsies with music by Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Tangled, Enchanted) and lyrics by Jack Feldman ( Copacabana ). The show follows the true story of the 1899 Newsboys strike in New York City. “Santa Fe” is sung by lead character Jack Kelly as he despairs at the failure of the protests so far and shows his anger at the beating and capture of his disabled friend Crutchie.
