Grease (Is The Word) – Grease (Backing Track)
Based on the Original London Cast Recording from 1993, this song was written specifically for the opening title sequence of the 1978 film version of the hit musical. Written by The BeeGee’s Barry Gibb and performed by Franki Valli, the song reach no.1 in the charts and is a platinum selling record. Although it was not part of the original Broadway (1971) and London (1973) productions, following the success of the film, the musical was revived in London in 1993 to include this and many of the popular songs from the film version as well.

Based on the Original London Cast Recording from 1993, Sandy sings this reflective reprise version of Rizzo’s song from Act One which poked fun at her, as she decides she needs to make some changes to fit in with the crowd and show Danny she’s serious about him.

I Don’t Know How To Help You

‘I Don’t Know How To Help You’ is a song from the song cycle Elegies For Angels, Punks and Raging Queens with music by Janet Hood and lyrics by Bill Russell. Inspired by the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt and Edgar Lee Masters’ Spoon River Anthology, the show is an incredibly moving, funny and powerful series of songs and monologues written from the perspective of AIDS sufferers, their friends and families.

This track is backed on the 1993 Original London Cast Recording.

The Audition Song

From new musical Show & Tell by Flora Leo, ‘The Audition Song’ is set during auditions for a the play-within-the-play school production of a re-written Cinderella – the story after the happy ending. A great show for a young cast, this is a chorus song with some lovely solo lines.

‘A Healthy, Normal, American Boy’ is a song from the musical Bye Bye Birdie, which follows the story of rock-n-roll star Conrad Birdie joining the army, and the effect that has on a group of teenage girls in Ohio. The story was inspired by Elvis Presley and his draft notice into to the US Army in 1957. This song comes in Act 1 of the show, when the tabloids surround Conrad Birdie asking controversial questions about his lifestyle and drafting, and his songwriter & secretary answer for him in attempt to make him seem like the perfect American soldier.

There’ll Always Be A Lady Fair / Sailor’s Chantey

‘There’ll Always Be A Lady Fair’ is a song musically based on the sea shanty style, from Act 1 of Anything Goes, the hit musical by Cole Porter. The song features a group of sailors looking forward to the prospect of finding romance when they reach the shore. It’s also sometimes known as ‘Sailor’s Chantey’ or ‘Sailor’s Quartet’. This backing track is based on the 2011 New Broadway Cast Recording.

“Raise A Little Hell Reprise” is a song from the musical Bonnie & Clyde with music by Frank Wildhorn and lyrics by Don Black. Based on the Original London Cast Recording from 1993, this is the opening song of the show, performed by Danny & Sandy as they spend their last day of summer romance together. “Murder, He Says” was originally written by Frank Loesser and Jimmy McHugh for the 1942 musical film “Happy Go Lucky”, where it was sung by Betty Hutton. It became a popular jazz standard when covered by Dinah Shore in 1943, and featured on the soundtrack of the 2003 film Mona Lisa Smile, sung by Tori Amos.

Cabaret

Cabaret – Cabaret – Backing Track
This backing track of “Cabaret” is taken from the 1972 film version of Kander & Ebb’s hit show by the same name, starring Liza Minelli. The show, based in 1931 Nazi Berlin, follows the romance of Sally Bowles, performer at the Kit Kat Club cabaret, and American writer Cliff Bradshaw. This song is performed by Sally at the club near the end of the show, after an argument with Cliff about her pregnancy and his wish to take her away from the troubles in her beloved Berlin to look after her. Sally is unknowingly singing this whilst Cliff is being beaten up by Ernst and his Nazi bodyguards.
